Job Description

We are actively recruiting for an Administration Apprentice.

Based primarily in the human resource office in HMS Raleigh in Torpoint, in a customer-facing role which provides a broad and flexible service to meet personnel administration of the Royal Navy (RN). The incumbent will also have employment opportunities within a medical centre processing new entrant medical data and i-hub managing information management in a fast moving organisation. You will rotate through various elements of the personnel support services department to meet the needs of the business and provide opportunities to progress the apprenticeship in and challenging and diverse environment.

Apprenticeship 12-14 months. Working towards a NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration.
Specific tasks might include, but are not limited to:
To be trained in the use of Joint Personnel Administration (JPA), the Ministry of Defence’s Human Resource IT System
Provide administrative services throughout the department
Production of business documentation and information management reports, collate and to use the data in support of customer/business needs
Manage diary systems
Contribute to the organisation of an event and provide administrative support for meetings
Use collaborative working to maintain required contracted outputs to the appropriate standard and agreed performance indicators
Contribute to ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations, the GDPR and Data Protection Act
An organised and reliable individual is required, somebody who can remain calm under pressure and possesses the motivation to be trained. The candidate must be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of Interserve company values.
The ability for development of organisational and motivational skills.
The potential to deliver a quality service within a customer facing environment
Aptitude for confident verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop close working relationships
IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications; full training will be given on specialist systems where applicable.
Good all round standard of education (minimum of GCSE Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent)
Proactive approach and the ability to embrace change and willingness to learn
Willing to manage short-notice changes to requirements and deadlines
SC Security Clearance will be required – processed once employed
Requirement to work 30 hours per week (Mon – Fri) during core hours and flexibly when required
Required to wear approved company work wear
