What is the purpose of this role?
Assist with engineering activities for allocated projects to facilitate conformance to the contract specification and delivery to programme timescales.
What will this role involve?
Assist with the engineering activity on allocated projects including support for design reviews, communication and consultation with other functions (design, install and test) over changes, and interfaces with other disciplines (including facilitating inter-disciplinary check meetings) Assist the Contractor’s Responsible Engineer as required Assist the Project with the definition of the engineering resource required to deliver the project plan, and provide an engineering review of the method statements and risk assessments proposed for the work Attend and record briefings of technical updates to the project team Promote best practice Ensure that materials are specified correctly, orders are placed to meet the project programme and that an up to date material schedule is maintained for the project Assist with the implementation of in process inspection and surveillance regime Adhere to and comply with all Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
What are we looking for?
Must be able to drive, with a full current and valid driving licence HNC/HND or equivalent Compute literate for office systems and planning tools Good communication and interpersonal skills Satisfy requirements of PTS medical PTS / IWA Personal Track Safety AC (PTS AC) Personal Highways Safety Environmental awareness Tool Box Talk IOSH working safely
What makes this role unique?
You will provide sufficient site support to the project team (Project Manager, site supervisors, resource providers and sub-contractors) throughout the works to ensure that critical engineering decisions can be made in a timely manner, and that issues arising can be dealt with to ensure compliance with a minimum of re-work.
