Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
A motivated Bid Writer and Bid Leader with diverse sector experience within the industry.

The successful candidate will have the enthusiasm and drive to look beyond the obvious and seek to drive solutions.  You should be a self motivated individual, not afraid of a challenge, be results driven and have an entrepreneurial approach to solution finding. The candidate needs to be flexible and hard working with the willingness to learn and continually improve quality of work and have excellent organisation and leadership skills to ensure consistently high level quality bid outputs.

The successful candidate will be part of a successful Pre-Construction team with a proven track record of securing new business opportunities through various procurement and framework methods. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate specific bids from initial expression of interest to bid submission
Appraisal of  EOI/PQQ/ITT/RFP documentation to identify key risks and opportunities and devise answer plans and strategies;
Responsible for the quality of information presented in submissions
Manage bid activities in line with plan and priorities
Organising and leading bid strategy meetings;
Formulating and delivering bid programmes;
Leading the bid management process working alongside other pre-construction team members to ensure accurate and detailed  submissions;
Leading the development of bid response that exceeds our client’s expectations;
Writing technical submissions and proposals and collating and incorporating the input of others
Producing supporting case studies and CV's required for submissions
Assist others within the business providing key information when required
Ensure information on procurement portals remains current and up to date
Preparing presentations and attending interviews;
Assisting in formulating and developing alternative proposals inc. value engineering and optioneering;
Input into the planning and programming and the development of construction methodologies and winning proposals;
To be aware of business continuity processes via Line Manager.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
HNC/D or degree level in Construction Management/Civil Engineering (desirable);
Proficient use of Microsoft Office inc. Word, Excel, Publisher, Asta, Adobe In Design & PowerPoint with  generally strong IT skills;
Enthusiasm and the desire to win;
Ability to work flexibly to tight deadlines;
Effective communicator with the ability to manage a team and work within a team environment;
Construction knowledge and commercial appreciation;
Ability to author technical and quality narrative and edit same by others;
Ability to work flexibly and to tight deadlines;
Attention to detail;
Effective communication – both written and oral;
Experience of managing a team in a bidding role;
Good knowledge of building, civil engineering and general construction techniques and methodology;
An understanding of the design and procurement process and an awareness of contractual matters.
