What is the purpose of this role?
Amey and Trafford Council are working in partnership to deliver environmental and infrastructure services across Trafford forming the One Trafford Partnership.
The Trafford Highways Consulting account provides the local highway authority function on behalf of Traffic Council. It comprises of a team of engineers, technicians and support staff. There are three teams each leading on a key area of the account; Traffic, Development Control & Drainage and Highway Maintenance (including highway structures).
Due to Growth we are recruiting for a Civil Engineer to join to join our Highways Maintenance team working on several projects including Highway Maintenance & Structural Schemes, Traffic Management Schemes and the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Cycling and Walking Challenge Fund Project.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Engineer to project manage the Highway Maintenance & Improvement Scheme. You will be engaged in the design and delivery of projects to the customer by providing design input into projects, working within defined budgets, to an agreed timetable and to high professional standards. You will be required to provide support on larger schemes and be given responsibility for managing the design on smaller schemes.
You will have or be working towards IEng or CEng status of the Institution of Civil Engineers / Institution of Highways and Transportation or similar.
You will have previous experience in using AutoCAD, MC or Civils 3D systems. Demonstrable experience of working on Local Authority and developer lead schemes.
