JOB PURPOSE
Long term major infrastructure investment in airports is forecast to continue across the UK providing significant opportunities at regional and national airports. Job Summary 
 
Responsible for the contract programmes for design and construct projects, from initial compilation at tender to update and progress during construction to Completion. Projects will include aviation sector contracts under framework agreement and as competitively tendered schemes. Programmes will be in Microsoft project, Asta power project and or Primavera P6.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review contract documents, specifications, scope and test schedules;
Develop initial tender and contract programmes, sequence of work and construction methodologies;
Plan project work and identify resource requirements (labour, plant, materials and S/Cs);
Produce or advise on short term working programmes for construction teams;
Monitor progress and productivity and report to team;
Identify and assess programme risks and produce mitigation plans with project team;
Produce monthly progress reports for client and internal issue;
Identify alternative methodologies / sequences to improve project completion date;
Liaise with designers, subcontractors, third parties e.g. licensing authorities;
Liaise with Client planning team and communicate through client portal as required;
Produce records, progress reports and project related documents and communicate with all levels of staff regarding progress and project issues;
Directly supervises Assistant Planner/Planner where required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Relevant construction training;
Specialist planning training;
Preferably degree qualified in a construction related subject;
Proven experience from construction background demonstrating progress to Senior Planner through career development with both theoretical and practical experience;
Ideally will have previously held a similar position with a medium to major size Civil Engineering Contractor;
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Project software;
Knowledge and experience of Asta software;
Knowledge and experience of Primerva software (essential);
Aviation experience (desirable);
NEC3 Experience (essential).

We are looking for an experienced Construction Planner to work at our site at Gatwick Airport and at other UK airport sites as required. This role is offered on a full time basis.
