APPRENTICE CONSTRUCTION SITE ENGINEER (0616)
Job purpose

Reporting to the Site Engineers, the Trainee Site Engineer will be site based with overall responsibility for the technical support on a section of the project works.

You will participate in the health and safety, quality, environmental and commercial management of the project. 

The Trainee Site Engineer will be given the opportunity to study towards a L3 / L4 Construction Apprenticeship with the potential to progress to a degree in a construction related subject.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for fulfilling the activities assigned (in whole or in part) by the Site Engineer in the appropriate process, including:

Ensuring compliance with the Companies Business Management System;
Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems in relation to the project to ensure successful completion to pre-determined plans and service level agreements;
Supporting initiatives to deliver ongoing continuous improvement;
Maintaining good relationships with the customer and his representatives/advisors;
Implementing Interserve Construction Strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc;
Providing technical support to ensure that the project works comply with the requirements of the contract specification and drawings etc. and maintaining appropriate records to confirm such compliance;
To be aware of business continuity processes via Line Manager.
Knowledge skills & experience

5 GCSEs Grades A-C (or equivalent) including English, Maths and Science;(essential)
Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages e.g. Excel, Word; (desirable)
Experience of working in a construction environment (desirable);
Understanding of or keenness to work in the construction industry.(essential)
You will be required to attend college on a day release or block release programme to achieve a suitable Level 3 or 4 qualification (depending on current qualifications).

We are looking for an apprentice construction site engineer to work from our south wales region. This role is offered on a full time and fixed term basis for the length of the apprenticeship.
