About Us
London Underground is one of the world’s most famous metro systems and is responsible for more than 3.5 million passenger journeys a day. It has 11 lines covering 402km and serving 270 stations. During peak hours, more than 500 trains are in operation.

London Underground’s (LU) Performance, Analysis and Improvement Team (PA&I) are responsible for driving the business to continuously improve its reliability and performance through analysis and insight that enables LU to prioritise effort, deliver value, and support realisation of our business strategy.

The Role
The PA&I Continuous Improvement team's focus is on embedding and sustaining continuous improvement (CI) behaviours, tools, techniques and methodologies across LU to support performance improvement. We are looking to recruit a Continuous Improvement Coach to join the Performance, Analysis and Improvement Team and be responsible for embedding and coaching the business in standard continuous improvement processes, procedures, plans and behaviours, using best practice CI tools, techniques and methodologies.

Accountabilities
• Supporting the development of the CI Centre of Excellence to create and optimise standards for CI implementation across LU, utilising standardised tools and continuous improvement methodologies
• Developing training across all levels of the organisation, from directors to front line employees, to improve organisational behaviours and increase understanding of CI tools, techniques and methodologies
• Implementation and roll out of LU's performance improvement process (Visualisation Management) at all levels of the organisation
• Roll out of CI initiatives across operational business areas, establishing teams of practitioners to support future implementation of LU's visualisation management process
• Coach and facilitate CI skill transfer to embed a sustainable culture of continuous improvement at all levels of LU
• Actively promote CI capability and culture throughout LU through effective communication of the CI strategy across the organisation ensuring alignment and 'buy in'
• Working closely with the Performance Improvement Business Partners in delivering improvement initiatives and coaching CI tools and techniques for the successful delivery of improvement initiatives
• Challenge business leaders to create an action-orientated, agile culture of continuous improvement and accountability align

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Knowledge
• Educated to degree level, ideally in a numerate disciple, or equivalent level of experience
• Broad knowledge of the current and emerging continuous improvement trends and developments
• Accredited in continuous improvement methodologies, LEAN, Six Sigma and Agile
• Holds coaching certification
• Knowledge of organisational change management
• Good understanding of the Mayor's Transport Strategy and LU's business priorities
• Expert knowledge of delivering business insight to drive strategy and decision making

Skills
• Strong commercial acumen
• Excellent people skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels internally and externally
• Self-motivated and results driven
• Strong planning, problem solving skills and prioritisation abilities
• Strong ability to communicate clearly and explain complex issues in a simple way
• Ability to effectively coach a wide range of stakeholders, transferring CI skills and establishing groups of CI practitioners
• Build strong relationships across a range of stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and data visualisation
• Ability to integrate and align business KPIs with CI activities

Experience
• Experience in developing, and motivating a team to help them achieve business objectives
• Proven track record of influencing and presenting successfully at senior management level
• Experience of operating in a multi-disciplinary environment (finance, engineering, operations, etc.) and good ability to synthesize information from each discipline into comprehensive outputs
• Proven track record successfully deploying CI initiatives
• Experience of providing coaching and support to different stakeholders
