POSITION OVERVIEW
The post holder will be responsible for proactively delivering the support services within their control against budgetary and contractually required standards. Using experience, initiative and strong people management skills, the service should be developed to improve quality and reduce costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The day-to-day management of Portering, Linen, Mail Room and Logistics services.
Full budgetary responsibility for the Portering, Linen, Mail Room and Logistics services supplied to the Trust, ensuring that budget targets are achieved.
Commercial responsibility for the services, ensuring that the contractual elements relating to the services are understood by all the team and that SLAs are achieved
To take overall responsibility for all staffing related activities, ensuring the effective deployment of staff within budgetary constraints in order to provide the contracted service to the Trust. This includes recruitment, induction, training, direction, productivity and performance management. Agency staffing to be kept to a minimum for holiday, sickness and vacancy cover- and within budget.
To review relevant reports from Helpdesk / Planet  relating to the Portering, Linen, Mail Room and Logistics services and ensure that ongoing service improvements are recommended as a result of changing Trust activity and that best efficiency is delivered at all times. To work with all related parties that deliver the logistics service to identify trends and shortfalls in service delivery across the logistics service process.
To develop and maintain a working knowledge of current HTMs and legislation relating to the Portering, Linen, Mail Room & Logistics services.
To ensure value for money and efficient use of resources including the procurement of goods, services and equipment.
To be the SME for the services and strategically review the services regularly to ensure they are enhanced in line with industry developments and Trust policy changes. To develop business cases for change and drive new initiatives within departments and lead on all change management processes required to continually improve service.
To actively manage subcontractors to ensure that they perform in accordance with their contracts to assist IFM to deliver the required service to the Client. To renegotiate contracts where required.
To respond to complaints and other service issues timely and professional manner. This should be through the formal processes and not on an ad hoc basis.
To ensure all required training is delivered in line with IFM policies and procedures and subsequent training records are kept.
Ensure communications with the client group, local management and staff groups are conducted in the appropriate manner so that effective performance is delivered.
Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in.

Management qualification.
Previous managerial experience working in a multi disciplinary FM environment.
Previous management experience of the operational running of hospital Domestics, Waste, Pest Control & Window Cleaning services.
