Digital Communications Officer
We are looking for a compelling content creator and digital expert, to join our high-performing external communications team in the heart of Bristol.

Thanks to the switched-on nature of people living in our popular and growing City, Bristol City Council has a large and dynamic social media following. You will be able to develop creative ways to drive engagement and reach even more people, across all of our digital channels.

Bristol City Council uses its resources and powers to try to create a truly inclusive and connected City, in which no-one is left behind. We deliver a vast range of services from housing, social care and street cleaning, to multi-million pound infrastructure projects, and pioneering ground-breaking technologies. As well as reacting quickly to issues emerging online, you will help develop proactive communications campaigns to get the Council’s message, ambitions and achievements, out there amongst our City’s diverse communities.

With good knowledge of digital marketing tools, social media reach, and how to add value to campaigns through SEO or Pay Per Click, you will work with colleagues to ensure we leverage owned, earned, and shared channels. You will be creative, determined and tenacious, have a clearly demonstrated love of all things digital and social, and be brimming with ideas to build Bristol City Council’s digital profile and engagement.

Additional important information:

This is a politically restricted role and requires post holders to be willing and able to comply with political restriction, under Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
