Reading, drawings, and figures to understand the layout of water supply, waste, and venting systems. · Installing, repairing and maintaining domestic, commercial, and industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. · Being able to work in confined spaces or at certain heights.
Communicating effectively and confidently with colleagues, subcontractors, and management.
Locating pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
Using hand and power tools, as well as machines, to measure, cut, bend and thread pipes.
Diagnose and resolve repairs and blockages on sanitary waste, drainage and machines such as Macerators and industrial washing machines.
Providing time and cost estimates of the work to be performed (both labour and materials).
Being able to test pipes for leakages using water as well as air pressure gauges.
Knowledge of legal restrictions and safety rules.
Meeting safety standards and taking note of build regulations.
The working conditions can vary from job to job and with differing levels of but as a rule the vast majority of conditions will be within a hospital environment. This might take the form of Industrial, domestic or it could be within a shared public area. The one thing that’s consistent though is that you will be expected to appear presentable and not intimidating. You will be on the move all the time and won’t be tied to the same space.
Extensive experience is essential and demonstrate you have been working in the plumbing environment with a proven track record. Have good knowledge of the Water Regulations and Building Regulations.
Completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship.
A suitable City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent.
Experience in commercial buildings.
The post holder will have an obligation to undertake where necessary training to ensure the level of competency is up held.

Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to be an effective Team Player within the Services Management Team.
Flexible with the ability to work under pressure ·
Available for flexible working hours for occasional overtime, evening s and weekends
Capable of working on own initiative and without supervision.
To be fully aware of and adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
Gas safety awareness qualifications for Commercial and Domestic.
Water Hygiene awareness Qualifications NVQ or City Guilds (Parts 1 to 3) or equivalent Plumbing Certificate IOSH Risk Additional Information ·
