What is the purpose of this role?
The role is based at our 400 acre Waste Management Park at Waterbeach, about three miles north of Cambridge. The site has a range of services including:
a state of the art materials recycling facility (MRF) which can process mixed recyclable materials from households and businesses.
Mechanical Biological Treatment facility - this takes all of Cambridgeshire's residual (black bag) waste Composting.
You'll be required to repair and carry out preventative maintenance on all types of plant and equipment when required. You will be responsible for making sure this is done cost effectively, and the machines are maintained.
What will this role involve?
Ensure the first-time repair of machines and equipment and that a cost-effective repair is carried out and within budget.
Ensure that all documentation, Work Orders, service sheets are completed and returned to the supervisor for approval, signature and filing.
Ensure that all tooling and equipment used complies with current legislation and certification.
Maintenance of a tidy bench and working area.
Ensure that all aspects of health and Safety are adhered to and that the QA policy is understood.
Maintain an up to date competency for the effective repair of vehicles.
None conformances at QA audits.
To work safely both individually or with others.
You'll be required to wear the following personal safety equipment:
Reflective Jackets and trousers.
What are we looking for?
Educated to City and Guilds or NVQ levels as appropriate.
To be trained to City and Guilds or NVQ level in Engineering.
Able to work on own initiative.
Tidy and organised.
Environmental awareness Tool Box talk.
IOSH working safely.
