What is the purpose of this role?
To assist the Operatives to undertake the Highways works in accordance with the OCR instructions.
What will this role involve?
Maintain high technical standards and solutions
Attend project briefings as required
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and manage and mentor apprentices and operatives and coordinate the work of others as necessary
Responsible for the security of vehicles/plant and materials under their direct control and to plan work and estimate vehicle/plant and material requirements
Carry out a wide range of general maintenance tasks e.g. drainage, kerbing, fencing, walling, sweeping, signing, patching, traffic management
Drive/operate vehicles/plant requiring general and specialist skills including vehicle checks, routine maintenance, (e.g. oil and water checks) and cleaning Keep records, complete all necessary paperwork, communicate and liaise with other employees of Amey, sub-contractors, the emergency services, the police, the general public, clients and customers
Report any Health and Safety, team or performance concerns to the Supervisor
Other duties, as required Supervise and support the operatives directly under their control contributing to overall service delivery to a defined programme of work activity
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will be currently working in a similar position and will have the LANTRA traffic management qualification. You will have appropriate Highways Traffic Management experience.
You will be a team player with a willingness to assist colleagues, and can work to deadlines. You will be customer focussed, and can multi-task and prioritise work in a demanding environment.
