We build capital projects as well as maintaining existing assets throughout the country's road network, working with repeat-business customers on long-term frameworks. To assist the site team in the management of projects from contract award through to completion; reporting to either a Site Agent, General Foreman or Project Manager depending on the complexity of the project.
To assist in the successful and timely completion of projects for Interserve by applying the quality, health, safety, environmental, sustainability and Lean procedures of the business, whilst maintaining and improving client relationships and working with the team to achieve financial success of the project
Ensuring safe working conditions (e.g. daily excavation checks),
Ensuring timely delivery of call off materials to avoid delay to the project and ensure they are stored safely and tidily (applying 5S).
Continuously monitor trades and labour under their control to ensure all health and safety requirements are met and that site cleanliness is maintained;
Where labour resources on site do not match programmed/planned labour requirements bring this to GF or Agents attention;
Monitor and record progress of the works (complete diaries and allocation sheets) and assist in preparation of short term programmes;
To direct any instruction from the Clients Representative to the General Foreman or our Project Manager before taking action;
Supervising, monitoring and recording to ensure project compliance with the Specification and the Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability Company Policies by all persons on site;
Take responsibility for ensuring safe use and correct utilisation of any items used by site operatives under Interserve control;
To be aware of business continuity processes via Line Manager;
To carry out safety inspections and deliver Site Inductions;
To carry out Toolbox Talks and Daily Safety / Method Briefings;
To undertake routine management of all of our subcontractors;
Undertake the responsibilities appropriately assigned within the contract PMP.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
CITB Level 2 Safety Course SSSTS;
CITB Level 3 Safety Course SMSTS (5 day) (Desirable);
Appropriate CSCS card;
First Aid at Work (4 day) (Desirable);
Behavioural safety training (Desirable);
New Roads and Streetworks supervisor(Desirable);
City & Guilds in a building or civil engineering trade (Desirable);
CPCS Supervisors card (Cranes/Lifting) (Desirable);
CPCS Slinger/Signaller Card (Desirable);
Fire Safety and COSHH Co-ordinator (Desirable);
LANTRA 12 A/B Traffic Management (Desirable);
Scaffold safety awareness (Desirable);
Training in Lean principles (Desirable);
CAT and Genny training;
Has held a similar position with a Civil Engineering Contractor for a sustained period;
Experience of working within the highways sector (Desirable);
Experience in earthworks, piling, steel structures, in-situ concrete, retaining walls (Desirable).
A background of working on site in relevant trades or supervisory positions sufficient to give an in depth understanding of work stream processes which the individual is responsible for supervising (e.g. drainage, earthworks, FRC) (Desirable);
Experienced in Word, Excel, Outlook (Desirable);
Specification for Highway works (Desirable);
Dependant on the project or section of work being supervised: specialist knowledge may at times be desirable or essential;
Understanding of key construction techniques and key risk for Highways Works.
Collaborative working, planning and implementing Lean techniques (Desirable);
Dependant on the project or section of work being supervised: specialist knowledge may at times be desirable or essential.
Experience and ability to manage and direct other staff (section foreman, Graduate engineers) and labour;
Able to work as part of a multi disciplined team;

We are looking for an experienced Foreman covering Highways Englands Area 13 & 14 Strategic Road Network. Based out of either Alfreton or Newton Aycliffe Office. This role is offered on a full time and permanent basis.
