About the Role 
You will be accountable for the infrastructure team's overall objectives and delivery of customer happiness across all services provided, the role plays a key technical role in the day to day delivery of the functional service area (BAU Operations, Dedicated Estate Management, and Change Delivery). 
The role holder is expected to rotate between teams which focus on specific activities and accountable for the technical ownership of the management, investigation and resolution of Incidents of the supported services to maximise system availability for critical business services in accordance with the agreed service levels. 
Providing business critical support, the role holder may be required to provide on call 24X7 cover or work additional hours at short notice or work an off-set day to ensure extended hours coverage. 

Knowledge 
• A Degree in a relevant technology/computer science subject/equivalent technical qualification plus sound on the job experience of the platform specialism or equivalent extensive on-the job experience in IT infrastructure and in the particular platform specialism; 
• Demonstrable knowledge of the latest and emerging technologies likely to be employed in designing and delivering Enterprise Wide quality solutions in the chosen platform; 
• Demonstrable knowledge of technical techniques in the following:- IT Infrastructure Technologies, System Security, Acceptance Testing – including operational, user, functionality and others as required; 
• National and international legislation pertaining to the Government/Public Sector IT – e.g. Data Protection Act, EU Procurement Directives and Freedom of Information Act; and 

Experience 
• Has worked within the industry in a role reporting to manager level and working with business managers to enable business benefit through service delivery; 
• Previous experience as an IT Engineer; 
• Recent experience in the latest techniques and methodologies in delivering quality solutions; 
• Experienced in implementing, designing or supporting infrastructure as per the technical matrix; and 
• Proven experience of developing a customer-focused service culture and enabling people development towards this objective for junior colleagues.

• Strong analytical skills; 
• Communicates all needs, instructions and decisions clearly. Adapts the style of communication to meet the needs of the audience. Checks for understanding; and 
• Proficient in risk management methods and techniques for the assessment and management of business risk; 
• Has worked within the industry in a role reporting to manager level and working with business managers to enable business benefit through service delivery; 
• Previous experience as an IT Engineer; 
• Recent experience in the latest techniques and methodologies in delivering quality solutions; 
• Experienced in implementing, designing or supporting infrastructure as per the technical matrix; and

Skills Essential: 
• Deep understanding of XenApp and XenDesktop 
• Citrix Netscaler 
• Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS/MCS) 
• Citrix Storefront 
• Citrix Cloud 
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2008-2016 and VMWare Infrastructure 
• A good working understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy and Citrix Policy Management 

Skills Desirable 
• Experience using reporting and Analytic tools 
• Experience with Windows 10 deployments 
• Scripting (PowerShell)
