Job Description

Lettings Negotiator
To work effectively as part of the Council’s Lettings Negotiation Team delivering a highly commercial sourcing service which creates opportunities for rehousing within the private rented sector at significant scale and will enable the council to refer the majority of citizens who seek assistance, due to homelessness, to the private rented sector.

To work as part of the team delivering a high quality frontline service to landlords that attracts and retains them and manage the flow of private sector accommodation available to prevent homelessness including temporary and long term housing options.

To proactively engage with the private rented sector to source accommodation which has the potential to be used by the Council for the prevention of homelessness,

We are looking for a Letting Negotiator to work with in our Private Rented Team. You will be part of a busy team with a challenging role.

Your role will be to source Private sector options for households who are homeless or about to be homeless. Proven negotiation skills alongside a positive mind set are needed. You as the successful candidate ,will assist colleagues from our Housing Options Service in preventing homelessness for households in crisis.

An ability to prioritise your tasks and time will be a needed; the City Council is continuing to forge stronger links with Private Sector Landlords and Agents.
