20.5 hours (Junction 3 Library and Learning Centre) - afternoon/evening

Bristol Libraries is looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focussed person who can provide both caretaking and reception services at Junction 3 Library and Learning Centre.

Junction 3, situated in Easton, includes a library, computer suite and rooms available for hire by community groups and other organisations. There are also offices occupied by tenants.

You must be able to provide reliable caretaking services. Duties will include responding to building maintenance issues, liaising with contractors, preparing rooms for activities and ensuring that the facilities of the centre are always in excellent condition. Reception duties will include both face to face, telephone and email services for a wide range of centre users, including library customers.

The post is busy and challenging. You will need the ability to respond to changing priorities, to manage conflict in a public service setting, to prioritise their own workload, as well as having excellent communication and customer care skills.

Usual working sessions are:

Week 1
Monday – afternoon + evening
Tuesday – afternoon
Wednesday – afternoon + evening
Friday – afternoon
Saturday – all day

Week 2
Monday – afternoon + evening
Tuesday – afternoon
Wednesday – afternoon + evening
Thursday – all day
Friday – afternoon
