MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL)

To support and be part of a directly employed labour team, to effectively complete maintenance tasks on the clients estate, in accordance with current civilian and defence legislation and also in accordance with the specified contract requirements.
Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) within various building environments in accordance with current legislation, Defence Standards, Risk Assessment and site Schedule (program of testing averages at 400 items per week).
Occasionally, carry out minor repairs to portable equipment, Re-lamping and Minor Electrical works/repairs if/when required.
Assist and support other trades and technicians in carrying out their duties, where appropriate and as required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A formal electrical 17th Edition qualification (Desirable) or practical portable appliance testing qualification (Essential) I.e. City & Guilds 2377, In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment)
Be able to demonstrate an understanding of Health & Safety in the Workplace - Essential.
Previous experience of PAT – Essential.
Working knowledge of multifunctional portable appliance testers – Essential.
Working knowledge of PAT software (I.e. SimplyPATs) – Desirable.
Previous experience in the electrical maintenance field, within a building services environment – Desirable.
Hold or able to obtain, MoD Clearance / DBS Check
Ability to work under own initiative and with limited supervision
