POSITION OVERVIEW
Interserve are currently recruiting a Multi Skilled Commercial Gas Combustion Engineer to work on our Central Government Contract. Interserve. All applicants for this role must be Time served Commercial Gas Engineers with commercial experience. The role is mobile covering the North West. Ideally we are looking for someone within the Chester area. Travel will be required to surrounding areas such as Manchester, Liverpool, Stoke on Trent etc.

The role is to carry out statutory monthly PPM related tasks. 65% of the role will be gas related and 35% will be general building maintenance & Statutory PPM related, however this will change as we increase our Self Delivery projects. Due to the nature of the client the successful candidate will be required to complete a high level security check before commencing employment with us, therefore you must hold a valid passport with at least 6 month remaining.

In order to be successful within this role it is imperative that you have the correct qualifications that allow you operate as compliant commercial gas engineer. Further to this you will also hold a valid driver’s license.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Interserve carry out statutory monthly PPM related tasks. We would like candidates to be experienced in a similar role with a history of carrying out such PPM related work such as:

Monthly Emergency Light Flick Testing
Monthly Water Temperature Checks (L8 Awareness)
Monthly Building Fabric Checks/Inspection
Annual Asbestos Inspections
Along with Gas related - reactive repairs/breakdowns & statutory Gas servicing & safety checks
Candidates will be expected to carry out general building fabric repairs such as the following:

Re-lamping light fittings (fluorescent, 2D, bayonet, screw, ect)
Door faults/repairs (door furniture repairs, door closers, handles, hinges)
Plumbing faults/repairs (toilets, showers, basins, sinks, baths, shower screens ect)
Drainage faults/repairs (toilets, showers, basins, sinks, baths, shower screens ect)
Handyman tasks (fitting shelves, notice boards, curtains, blinds, key safe, ect)
Carpet faults/repairs
Window faults/repairs
Other tasks

Ensure that the day-to-day planned preventative maintenance activities of gas engineers are completed in line with our contractual obligations.
Ensure all assets are maintained in accordance with the O&M Manuals.
Assist in supervising contractors and sub-contractors and ensure compliance with all statutory obligations.
Ensure that all reactive calls are closed out in line with our contractual time scales.
Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and company policy. (Fire regulations, COSHH, Safe working practices, PPE, PAT testing etc).
Ensure all gas distribution systems are functional and operational within design parameters and carry out reactive repairs within agreed response and rectification times
Ensure energy efficiencies are controlled and maintained
Keep all plant / rooms / services enclosures clean, tidy safe and secure
Undertake any ad-hoc duties that may be necessary during the course of your working shift
Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The role includes participation in a on call rota, currently 1 in 9 weeks, with a competitive standby allowance & overtime opportunities

Successful applicants will have the following qualifications, experience & ability’s:

Experience in a similar role
Relevant Commercial Gas qualifications
Full Driving Licence
Valid Passport with at least 6 months remaining
Time Served with commercial gas experience
Good Literacy & Vocabulary skills
Ability to work unsupervised and independently
To be able to work on own initiative and at times part of a team
