How will you do it?
Boots Opticians are proud to offer exceptional customer and patient-centred care every day. As an Optical Consultant apprentice you will gain the; knowledge skills and behaviours to enable you to deliver expert advice and support around the perfect eyewear and be able to have great conversations with our customers and patients about their eyewear style. You’ll have access to a great range of brands, from Boots Own Trend Edits to designer frames to help find our customers their perfect pairs of feel good frames.
The Optical world is often a fast paced environment; you will be a core member of the Optical practice team. You will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of different individuals with very diverse backgrounds.
What you’ll be doing day to day in your apprenticeship
Primarily, you’ll provide information to customers, working alongside the Optometrist, to help them select the best products and services to ensure customers see, look and feel better than they ever thought possible.
Secondly, you’ll keep up-to-date with all the various new lines and promotions within your practice, based on eye-wear trends so that you can always provide customers with the most up-to-date information which fits their needs.
Finally, you’ll play your part within the team, working together and helping and supporting colleagues to deliver a successful and profitable business.
How will you do it?
You’ll listen to our customers – and provide the right, up to date information at all times.
You’ll select the best products for each customer, based on their needs and this, in turn, will naturally increase our sales and make us profitable.
You’ll ensure that the practice is always presented to a high standard and that you effectively manage queues at busy periods. This means our customers will receive an excellent service in a great environment.

Our ideal apprentice is someone with a genuine passion for customer care. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with patients and your team, have a passion for understanding brands and what they offer, and will be able to understand individual customer needs to tailor your support and advice appropriately.
