JOB TITLE: Painting and Decorating Trainer (Crisis)

REPORTS TO: Head of Learning

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Planning and delivering painting and decorating courses
INTERNAL CONTACTS: Head of Learning, Admin Manager, Case Manager, vocational trainers
EXTERNAL CONTACTS: as required
HOURS: 9.30am-3.30pm (one hour unpaid for lunch) Mon-Fri, to be worked within Crisis term times (4 terms per year x 10 weeks). Also attend Crisis enrolment and induction days (3 days prior to the start of each term). Total: 212 days per year. Annual leave to be taken outside of Crisis term times.

PRIME OBJECTIVES:
You will plan for and deliver painting and decorating courses at Crisis Skylight
RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
1. Provide training in painting and decorating 2. Ensure and promote a safe working environment in line with Bounce Back and prison policies 3. Plan engaging and challenging sessions with course material that meets the need of individual learners 4. Provide feedback to trainees in order to help them progress and actively engage learners in their own evaluation and assessment 5. Invigilate assessments and ensure that portfolios and written records are up to date to satisfy internal and external quality assurance criteria 6. Complete daily registers and all paperwork required by Crisis 7. Attend Crisis enrolment and induction days and attend any Crisis meetings as and when required 8. Maintain displays that promote a positive and safe environment and support learning 9. Liaise with facilities, employment teams and other key staff at Crisis as and when required to both support learning and maintain a positive working environment for learners 10. Attend training events and BB team meetings as and when required

the community for a few days per year for emergency cover or for CPD purpose. We expect a degree of flexibility
from all of our employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Teaching qualification, level 3 or above (DTTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards a level 3
qualification within the first 3 months of appointment
Assessor’s qualification (ideal)
Level 3 vocational qualification (ideal)
