Transport for London (TfL) Engineering are looking for engineers to join the Power Team to help shape the future of the Power Network across TfL. On the Underground, DLR, Trams, TfL Rail and Crossrail (Elizabeth Line) the Power team are involved in projects to maintain, renew, upgrade and extend the Power Systems.


A highly motivated and adaptable engineer you will have experience in the  design, installation and maintenance of power distribution systems at 22kV and 11kV, DC traction systems, OHLE and substation assets. Knowledge and experience in asset engineering and technical management of traction Power Systems, particularly in a trams environment, will be a distinct advantage.


The successful candidate will be assigned to the London Trams Team to lead in the engineering & technical management of the London Trams Power System and ensure that TfL Engineering interests are properly managed. You will contribute to the strategic direction for future asset management, overhaul, replacement and maintenance. You will provide engineering requirements and technical specifications for Projects and undertake design reviews and provide technical assurance. You will manage and be the custodian within London Trams for engineering standards for Traction Power. You will work with Asset Engineers across all disciplines to ensure integrated management of changes, identifying efficient and innovative ways of achieving successful outcomes.


The location for this role will be the London Trams offices in Croydon, however future assignments could see deployments across other parts of the TfL estate.
