Job Description

We have a new opportunity for a Regional Commercial Director to join our award-winning Residential team to lead all our work in the London area and oversee several existing and upcoming projects.

 

Reporting into the Commercial Director, you will lead on all commercial leadership for our construction and development projects in the London area with two Regional Commercial Managers reporting into to you. This includes strategy, main and sub contract tender procurement, risk management, pre and post contract, margin improvement and people development.

 

Key Accountabilities will include:

 

Leadership of commercial function through all preconstruction, procurement, commercial delivery and post contract activities.
Facilitate regular two-way discussions with commercial, operational, design teams and or development teams and update all on current strategic issues.
Ensure decisions taken are clearly communicated and that relevant individuals have clear guidance to enable successful outcomes.
Regularly meet clients, consultants and or external influences to enable understanding of medium / long term trends, dynamics, opportunities and threats.
Ensure that all projects have clear tender and delivery strategies published in a project business plan.
Ensure all bids have a commercial strategy, including demonstration of relevant added value, and where appropriate co-ordinated with the Development Strategy
Identify significant opportunities for change to add value across the business and effectively manage the change process.
Oversee the monthly and quarterly reporting of the entire Residential business unit including monitoring and controlling various non-project budgets such as overheads and old contracts.
Led on the management of the commercial staff including overseeing recruitment and people development.
 

To be successful in the role you will have significant experience in commercial leadership and previously worked on residential schemes ranging from £10M to £100M under both a traditional contracting arrangement and a development approach.

 

Alongside this you will have strong leadership skills, including experience of managing and developing teams, and the confidence to successfully lead, influence and communicate at all levels to deliver targets.  Evidence of managing a portfolio of projects will be essential.
