The Senior Maintenance Support Technician supports the Principle Maintenance Technicians in ensuring the safety and reliability of Track systems on Crossrail. Completing auditing and assurance that ensures delivery of the Track Asset Maintenance Management Plan. Providing systems stewardship and asset life improvements.
Initially, this role will assist the PMST and DIME ensuring that the new Crossrail railway can be brought into service and be maintained safely, efficiently and effectively delivering defined Crossrail performance requirements.
Upon introduction of Crossrail into operation, the Senior Tech will assist the DIME and PMST in their responsibilities for the safety critical deployment and tactical direction of the maintenance teams with technical decision authority and execution of maintenance engineering stewardship plans as part of cross functional teams.
Accountable for approving Maintenance Support Technicians works, responsible decision making in accordance with relevant Senior Maintenance Support Technician and leadership competence.
Responsibility for the delivery and execution of Infrastructure maintenance works, renewals works and supervision of contracted labour services. This includes completion of infrastructure inspections, self-assurance checks and quality checks.
Being part of fault response teams and the delivery of maintenance tasks as defined by the IME's, complying with defined Crossrail standards, processes, procedures and performance to be delivered. The level of intervention includes leading the defect rectification teams and opening the railway to safe operation following maintenance and renewals works completion.
Deliver maintenance deployment planning with operations colleagues, ensuring that the operational requirements align with the maintenance engineering asset management requirements and deliver a compliant, safe, operable and maintainable railway including the undertaking of on-call duties.
To ensure that Crossrail Ltd fully address the specification, planning, execution and quality of the maintenance engineering and safety management requirements. This is part of the asset management strategy and plan to deliver the required asset whole life, Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) and Remote Condition monitoring
Ensure Infrastructure and Asset maintenance standards are met by applying established policies and procedures to ensure safety and functional limits are included in the design and construction phase.
Deliver continuous improvement through a delivery of change initiatives; specifically using Reliability Based Maintenance as part of the "Predict and Prevent" asset stewardship strategy.
Assist the Principal Maintenance Support Technician [Track].
Manage a team of Technicians to ensure their accountabilities are fulfilled
Ensure compliance to applicable Track standards and operational requirements.
Complete technical analysis, troubleshooting, root cause analysis & auditing to deliver a safe, operable and reliable railway.
Assures the right level of compliance and quality is achieved in the delivery of all Track works.
Deliver continuous improvement through asset review and improvements evaluations.
Good team leadership, communication and collaboration skills, delivering cross functional technical solutions with other cross functional colleagues including their functional heads.
Ability to participate in, and the preparation and implementation of innovative processes and techniques within their technical field and deploy solutions using evidence-based criteria.
Excellent decision-making and analytical skills
Established risk management skills.
Ability to formulate and articulate clear visions for the planning and delivery of initiatives and programmes
Good experience as Track Maintenance Technician
Track Asset Management and maintenance delivery in the Railway environment
Auditing & Assurance of asset and maintenance. Utilisation of associated maintenance management systems
Utilisation of associated maintenance management systems
Experience in the rail or other infrastructure and asset critical industries
Experience in the management of infrastructure stewardship and maintenance
Experience of working alongside other engineering functions.
