JOB TITLE: Senior Trainer

REPORTS TO: Head of Learning
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Team Leading vocational trainers
INTERNAL CONTACTS: Head of Learning, Admin Manager, Case Manager, vocational trainers
EXTERNAL CONTACTS: as required
HOURS: minimum 37 (core hours 8.15am-4.15pm)
You will plan for and deliver dry lining courses within a custodial setting in order prepare prisoners for employment upon release. You will set high expectations for the work environment and your learners in terms of security, health and safety and outcomes for learners.
In addition you will assist the Head of Learning in the line management of a team of vocational trainers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
1. Provide training in your vocational area 2. Be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure working environment in line with Bounce Back and prison policies, carrying out regular health and safety and security audits of the entire training provision on site 3. Plan engaging and challenging sessions with course material that meets the need of individual learners 4. Provide feedback to trainees in order to help them progress and actively engage learners in their own evaluation and assessment 5. Maintain group profiles, individual learning plans and additional learning support records 6. Invigilate examinations and ensure that portfolios and written records are up to date to satisfy internal and external quality assurance criteria 7. Complete daily registers and enrolment forms 8. Maintain displays that promote a positive and safe environment and support learning 9. Attend training events and meetings as and when required 10. Contribute to team meetings and cover colleagues as and when required

11. Line manage staff in the absence of the Head of Learning 12. Liaise with other departments and key personnel within the prison to ensure that Bounce back is able to meet its objectives within the prison

Teaching qualification, level 3 or above (DTTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards a level 3 qualification within the first year
