What is the purpose of this role?
We operate nine Household Recycling Centres across Cambridgeshire as part of its partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council. The sites allow residents to dispose of their household waste, free of charge, and we then make sure as much as possible is recycled. All nine centres accept residents' garden waste, timber, glass, metals, paper, cardboard, textiles, batteries and waste electrical equipment for recycling.
As a Waste Operative you will be assisting the public and ensure that all waste is separated according to its stream and that all recyclable elements are recycled. A typical day could include dealing face to face with the public and answering any queries they have; waste acceptance; sorting waste to ensure it is in the correct waste stream and general housekeeping but no day is the same so this is great place to have a varied workload!
